Editor's Message

The measure of an institution is not something that can be determined by looking at a list of simple formulaic qualifiers. The only way to properly evaluate a University is to examine the quality of education that it provides to its students. Perhaps one of the best ways to accomplish this is to look at the work that the students produce while studying at our University. It is not often that we are given the opportunity to showcase student work, so when Dr. Visentin approached BUSU to discuss the possibility of creating a student issue of BU's Ecclectica magazine, we jumped at the chance. Internet publishing is indeed the way of the future, and we are proud to be one of the first Universities in Canada to begin publishing a regular on-line journal of this kind. It is our intention to make this student issue an annual effort so that members of our campus community and visitors to our University website will have the opportunity to explore and celebrate the accomplishments of some of our best and brightest!

This edition of Ecclectica is entitled "Leaders of Tomorrow". The submissions included in this issue cover a wide array of topics through a variety of mediums. We hope that our selections will be able to offer a small glimpse into some of the work that is being done in the different departments and schools on our campus. If you have any questions regarding this issue or any of the articles contained in it please contact the Brandon University Students' Union at busu_pres@brandonu.ca.
