Ruth Alexander (née Bingham) graduated from Brandon College in 1930. She was an outstanding athlete during her college days. Following graduation she taught physical education at Delta Collegiate, Hamilton, and began an illustrious athletic career. She was a member of the Lakeside Ladies Athletic Club of Toronto, national champion women's basketball team. Ruth was also a singles tennis champion at the Mount Royal Tennis Club. She was competitive curler throughout her life. Her enthusiasm for athletics was shared with family, friends and, often, innocent bystanders.
