Trent Frayne attended Brandon College in 1939. Mr. Frayne became the pre-eminent Canadian sports writer of his generation. He began his career as a sports writer with the Brandon College Quill and the Brandon Sun. He covered his first World Series in 1941, during which he interviewed Joe Dimaggio. During the 1950s he wrote for the Globe and Mail and Maclean's Magazine. His work has appeared in Sports Illustrated and the Saturday Evening Post. Trent Frayne is the author of more than a dozen books and was awarded the National Newspaper Award for sports writing in 1975.
